Physician Assistant (P.A.)

Immediate hire for a qualified Physician Assistant. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our fast-paced internal medicine practices at Avondale Medical Center and Buckeye Medical Center. The Physician Assistant, under the supervision of our physician, will provide quality healthcare services by making medical diagnoses as well as planning and dispensing medical treatment. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the AMC and BMC mission, vision and values. Experience: Entry Level or Mid-Senior Level, New Grads are encouraged to apply.


Required Education: Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program. N.C.C.P.A. Certification within the state of Arizona. Current license, prescribing and dispensing authority in Arizona. Certification as P.A. with DEA certificate.


Employment: Full-Time. Our full-time position is a 40 hour workweek with extended evening hours and flexibility to rotate weekends.



  • Demonstrates  clinical competency in all areas of clinical practice including: medical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, patient care, professionalism, practice based learning and improvement, systems based practice.

  • Independently plans patient care, including entire course of treatment for patient. Obtains medical history and performs physical examinations.

  • Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic procedures. Integrate evidence based knowledge and clinical expertise in decision-making.

  • Provides clear, concise, and accurate information in the electronic medical record.

  • Educates patients and their families/ caregivers concerning their health conditions, treatment options, and community resources. Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; discussing family planning; providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living; promoting wellness and health maintenance.

  • Prescribes medications, evaluates outcomes, and modifies medications/dosages, as appropriate.  Prescribes therapy or medication with physician approval.

  • Makes appropriate referrals to other health care professionals and/or agencies.

  • Demonstrates and promotes collaborative practice behaviors with the supervising physician and other members of the healthcare team in an effective and comprehensive manner.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

  • Engages in activities that promote professional growth and development to enhance processes that contribute to effective, efficient and safe patient care.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Skills: Working knowledge of computer software and fast typing abilities. Strong computer skills with Electronic Medical Records. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse population of patients. Excellent organization skills, time management and ability to prioritize work.


Preferred Skills (not required): Spanish- working proficiency.
